The 2022 North Coast GSM is 55% Sonoma County, Jemrose Vineyard and 45% Yorkville Highlands, Hawks Butte Vineyard. You may recognize these vineyards as our single vineyard bottlings of Jemrose Grenache and Hawks Butte Syrah and in 2022 we were fortunate to obtain some Syrah from Jemrose and some Grenache and Mourvèdre from Hawks Butte. The combination of these three grape varieties from two of our favorite vineyards is not to be missed. Jemrose provides beautiful aromatics, lively acidity, and cinnamon spiced plum ripeness. Hawks Butte adds density, white peppercorn, and dark fruit while still wildly fresh. Each vineyard and grape variety were harvested by hand early and vinified separately. Upon arrival to our winery, the grapes were crushed by foot and fermented whole cluster with native yeasts in open top tanks. The juice was later pressed to neutral French oak barriques for a 14-month élevage. 13% ABV
